From Heart Break to Heart Warm

Do you need to move from heart-break to heart-warm?

I find lots of heart-break and loss in the media and in talking to friends and colleagues about the health, economic and racial emergencies continuing to plague our society and our world. Our losses are great these days and I wonder is it realistic to strive for joy?

The first step is to acknowledge your real feelings. Feel the real existential threats we are facing.

There is plenty to acknowledge and grieve: threats to physical, mental and economic health, fears of our uncertain future, losses of activities we can no longer do and changes to our way of life.

However, there is also plenty to acknowledge and be grateful: our loving family and friends, the positive impact we have on our world, our ability to secure food and water and we are alive.
